New York Style Pizza in Jersey and NYC

I made a quick trip to NJ and NYC this past week and was truly in Pizza Heaven.   My brother picked me up at the train station and we had reservations at Delorenzo's on Hamilton Ave in "the Berg" section of Trenton.    A picture of DeLorenzo's Tomatoe Pie is below:

New York Style Pizza in Chicago and Everywhere!

Well, after several weeks of burning the candle at both ends, I've completely redesigned and re-architected the www.NewYorkPizzaFinder.com Web site.  The site is now totally database driven, uses XML files, and includes Google Maps mash-up.

The last time I was in Atlanta, I wanted to find some New York Style Pizza and realized that the site was inadequate for the traveller seeking good pizza.  It was just a list of places and reviews, but with no real sense of space and locality.  But now, with the Google Maps integration, I hope you will fin

Andolini's Pizza - Charleston's Finest

We arrived in Charleston, SC, with intentions of doing some walking, shopping, and eating wings.  But alas, we parked right across the street from Andolini's Pizzeria, in the middle of the campus of the College of Charleston and a couple blocks from the market.  So we had to grab one slice each (hey, it was only 11 am).  As usual, we were served up with big hot slices from their famous 19" pie. For background music we have the Beatles Abbey Road-- very nice.

Paulie's Pizzeria - New York Style Pizza in Columbia, SC

Just tried out Paulie's for lunch and it is genuine New York Style Pizza, right here in Columbia, SC.    Paulie's is located at 4517 Forest Drive, between Beltline and Fort Jackson.   I ordered to big cheese slices.  The crust is particularly thin and kind of crispy-- very tasty.  They put corn meal on the underside of the crust which is not my favorite thing, but it is very tasty and nice for a change.

For atmosphere, I like Paulie's.  Very New York, very New Jersey, very Pittsburgh.

They don't serve Sicilian pies.   One of my buddies tried a Stromboli and it was yummy, too.

Anthony's Pizza - Bryson City - Still the Best in NC

After five days in the woods, eating oatmeal, macaroni & cheese, Ramen noodles, & Slim Jims, my son Tommy and I emerged from the Smokies with a serous appetite for some excellent New York Style Pizza.  Fortunately, in the town of Bryson City, right there on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, sits the very best Pizza place in North Carolina, and certainly one of the best in the South East.  Anthony's Pizzeria has the good stuff!

So we ordered an Extra-Large (18") cheese pie and we dug in.  It

New York Style Pizza in Scottsdale, Arizona

According to Andrew, Patsy Grimaldi's in Scottsdale, AZ  (http://www.patsygrimaldis.com/) "is probably the best pizza I have had in the states."

He continues, "The secret is in the fresh ingredients and the coal fired oven.

Bob Rivers Show - Loves New York Style Pizza

I've previously referred to Podzinger here in the New York Pizza Blog.  It is a very cool Web Site that let's you do a Google-like search on Podcast content.  So I went there and searched for "New York Style Pizza" I got these results.   One of these results (The Daily Download) was a guy talking about a p

New York Pizza and Google Maps

On my recent trip to Atlanta I was effectively a user of my own sites and I have to say I was dissapointed in the ability of www.newyorkpizzafinder.com to help me find the best New York Style Pizza places in Atlanta.

There's no doubt that what I need to do is integrate my site with Google Maps.  I've seen this done and I think it's worth doing.  What I wanted to be able to do was look at a map of Atlanta and quickly determine which places were in the area that I was staying.  Then, when my plans changed, I needed to be able to quickly see what

New York Style Pizza in Atlanta (Revisited)

So you have two days in Atlanta on business, what do you do?  Well, I know what I do.  I visit as many allegedly so called New York Style Pizza places as I can.

In a prior post about New York Style Pizza in Atlanta, we had a list of several places that needed checking out.  On Wednesday night, Garry & I went by SLICE down on Peter's St.  We took the MARTA train to Garnett stop, one south of Five Points, and walked about 3 blocks to the place.  (Note:  this is not the best neighborhood to be strolling around at

New York Style Pizza in Charlotte

I've been very lax in updating the Charlotte section of this blog as well as www.newyorkpizzafinder.com.  Turns out my favorite New York Style Pizza Place, Nurchi's, shut down last year and that was a big disappointment.  Nonetheless, there are a lot of ex-New Yorkers in Charlotte, and a number of good New York Style Pizza Places in the Charlotte area.  Carlo's is my favorite.  Here are some comments from my relatives who live in Charlotte or visit often:
